serendipity (1 out of 10)

Serendipity, a movie about true love and fates way of bringing two people together through its clues and signs made a disappointing movie to me.  This movie took place in New York where two people meet and believe that they're soul mates, but put there love in fates hands to bring them together, if they are really meant to be.  Although this movie had very good actors, I already knew what was going to happen through out the whole movie.

I didn't like this movie because there has been many others like it. I sat through the whole thing already knowing the ending. It had no mystery and did not make your heart jump. For example, when we first started watching this movie I had no idea what it was going to be about, but in the first five minutes when the man and the woman meet for the first time you already new it was a love story where in the end no matter what, they would end up together. I never got excited to see what would happen. I would say it was very boring and plain.

I did however like the actors in this movie. I thought John Cusack and kate Beckinsale did a great job and are two of my favorite actors and actresses today. I think what makes a good movie is having a good story line and having mystery. Everyone wants to get caught up in the suspense, but this movie lacked that. I think watching this movie once would be enough but twice I would fall asleep.

Seinfeld episode 2 (10 out of 10)

Today we watched another Sienfeld episode, and this one was very funny. I liked this one better than the last one we watched.  This episode was so hilarious and made me crack up. I would definitely watch this episode again and would love show it to my friends. I love how the show can make you laugh about something so ridiculous but be so true.

While watching the episode today I enjoyed how they made sexual preferences that were extremely funny.  The whole episode was about a "sexual move" that Jerry in the past has used on many woman. The move now is being used by Elaine's boyfriend, and Jerry doesn't like how anyone else is using it.  Eventually the move is used wrong by George and leaves him single. Even though they never tell the audience what the move is, its still funny. This to some people would be found very entertaining, or very stupid. I certainly found this episode to be very good.

Another thing I liked about the episode, was how kramer ended up with a different license  plate. Instead of receiving his, he got one that said ass man, which belongs to a famous doctor in New York, which no one knows who. In the end kramer finds out who he is and it makes a great ending.

finding Nemo (7 out of 10)

This week we watched Finding Nemo, directed by Andrew Stanton. Finding Nemo came out in 2003 and made over 864,000,000 dollars. The movie drew peoples attention by the amazing colors of the ocean the movie showed, and the reality it shared, like you were actually swimming in the ocean.  The story takes place in the deep blue sea, where a protective Clown fish named Marlin, watches his son, Nemo, get captured by scuba divers outside the drop off, where they live. Marlin, ready to fight for his son because he has nothing to lose, travels many miles across the ocean to find Nemo. He will go through a dangerous yet exciting adventure that will require trust and love.

This movie is different from all the other disney films to me because it shows how hard life can really be. People can relate to losing there family members and what it is like to fight for the ones you love. This movie opened up my heart and made me feel grateful to have my family. I loved how while watching the film you saw how people can change, for example when Dory first meets Marlin and tells him she has short term memory loss, and in the end she starts to memorize things that had happened to her. It was a very unique characteristic to give to a fish, and I really liked that.

Another thing I enjoyed about the film was the humor. This move made me laugh a lot at some parts, for instance when Dory starts to pretend to speak whale, and Marlin gets mad. She actually communicates with the whale without even realizing it. I thought that it was pretty funny scene. The movie was very entertaining and i think will always be a popular film to young people and their families. I would definitely recommend this to people and there children, and would hope to see another film come out just like it very soon.

karate Kid (5 out of 10)

In class this past week we watched the Karate Kid, made in 1984 and directed by John G. Avildsen. The movie takes place in California, where a boy and his mother move to have a better life. Soon the boy Daniel larusso, played by Ralph Macchio, has some troubles with bullies and turns to learn Karate by a karate master, who influences Ralph to overcome his challenge and become a better person.

While watching this movie, there were things I liked and didn't liked. I liked pacifically the time period it was made in. The eighties are my favorite decade and I thought all the actors and actresses were very good looking and the clothes were my favorite accessory. I also liked how the boy and the girl in the movie fell in love and started to like each other. I thought it made it a lot more interesting and fun to watch.

Some things that I didn't like in the movie was that it was a little but cheesy and the story was cliche, and was not very original. I didn't like how the Karate teacher fixes Daniel's leg just by touching it. I thought that was very unrealistic and a bit pointless to have.  While watching I thought that it went by really fast and it didn't do a very good job explaining more and staying on topic. For example Daniel larusso learns karate that we never saw him practice and wins a competition in one day. I thought it should have been more inspirational and longer in the process of him learning how to beat the bad guys that have been training for longer than him.

Over all the movie was satisfactory and is a great flick for younger boys and girls.  I would recommend this to people because, it is entertaining to a certain level that I think people will enjoy very much. I am excited to see how the 2010 karate kid turns out to be, and hope it is better than this one.

Compare and Contrast

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, were both fantastic stories that was made into two great movies. The first movie made in 1971 was a well made children's movie, but for me I didn't care for the acting and had more singing then needed. I thought that some of the scenes were very boring but while it was out, made a very good movie to watch with the family.

The next film of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was made in 2005 and had the same plot but in a time of new technology, and bigger ideas. This movie compared to the first one had a lot of differences, such as much more machines making the chocolate and it was a bigger factory. Also, Charlie's father is also alive in the 2005 version, and the Umpa lumpa's looked very different and sang different songs.  Everything is very dramatic and over exaggerated but in a way that makes it seem real and believable.

The reason I think people would like the 2005 version better because it has more humor and the characters personalities are stronger and more entertaining. Willy Wonka was my favorite character played by Johnny Depp. He did a fantastic job executing the character. His facial expressions and the way he talked really made his character real. I also liked the ending of the 2005 film when charlie and his family live in the chocolate factory .

Watching the second film made me wish there was such  a place as a chocolate factory. Candy isn't just candy in these movies, and i know that watching this again will be just as good as the first time. I would recommend seeing this moving to anyone who enjoys a happy movie with a very creative scenes and special affects.
